5 More New Testament books dedicated in the Kinga Language

On September 18 we traveled as a family from Dar es Salaam to Makete District in southern Tanzania to be a part of the celebrations being held by the Kinga language community. They were celebrating the publication of 5 New Testament books in their language. The books were Mark, Timothy 1&2, Titus, and Philemon. These will compliment Ruth and Jonah to make a total of 7 books of the Bible now available to the Kinga community.

It was a an exciting event kicked off by a processional of 4 choirs that marched down main street to open market area in the middle of town. The even was attended by church leaders from all of the local denominations as well public officials including the District Commissioner. This was my first time to attend one of these events and I consider it a huge privilege to be able to have witnessed the dedication of Scriptures that came out of a project where I’ve had a small part to play. I thank God for the freedom we have to translate the Bible into the mother tongue. Of course now, our prayer is that lives will be changed!
